INFORMATION FOR ADVISORS
- The Medical Toxicology Virtual Advisor Program's primary role is to assist in the establishment of the relationship and is not expected to oversee all communications.
- All advisors are boarded-certified Medical Toxicologists
- Communications are intended to follow professional standards
- Advisors should respond in a timely manner (within a week is suggested)
- Electronic communication should not contain any information that the advisor would not be comfortable seeing publicly available. For information of a confidential nature, telephone conversations are suggested.
- The utility of specific advice with regard to individual fellowship programs is recognized, but advisors should assiduously avoid negative or disparaging comments. Such comments are considered grounds for dismissal from the program.
- The advisors can use their professional networking connections to optimize the quality of advice students receive, but are discouraged from suggesting other contacts without prior permission.
- The Medical Toxicology Virtual Advisor Program is not responsible for an advisee's training position. Working with a specific advisor does not guarantee a fellowship position.
